Hi all, I was hoping someone may have encountered this issue and could help me. I took my 2006 Chevy Trailblazer in for a new wheel bearing because I heard a slight noise. I took it to Les Shwab and they said wheel bearings were fine but my cv axles were leaking grease which they were. They replaced both cv axles and on the drive home it made a loud horrible clunking-rattling sound. I took it back and they swapped out the cv axles in case it was a bad axle but the noise was still there but not as bad. They said it was not the dust shield.
When I put it in 4wd the sound goes away but as soon as I put it back in 2wd the sound comes back. I took it to a shop and they said it did not sound like it was coming from the differential and could not figure it out. I am not sure if my 4wd even works but the sound goes away as soon as I put it in 4wd.
I have no idea what it could be and was hoping someone has encountered this before. The fact it goes away in 4wd drive seems like it would narrow it down a little. I will try and figure out how to upload the video of the sound. Any advice for information on this would be greatly appreciated.
