This would be an interesting project. However, IMO to actually start the process of creating oversized fender flares it would be important to have a majority consensus on some main issues.

First, how far would oversized fender flares need to extend past the existing body. Measured directly over the axle hub at the lowest point of the fender.

Second, how serious is the need for cutting out the fender well to fit larger tires? How many people are ready to cut up their fenders? How many would find cutting their fender a definite deal killer?

Third, would pocket style fender flares be acceptable to most people here? Pocket style fender flares have the visibile bolts.

Thanks,
Doug

Poll

make a new poll thread, pick an atractive title, list your options with pro's, con's, prices and more importantly pictures of the proposed flares.

in no time you will have enough info to go on and build the 2x most popular options...

I think we had a conversation going on over on the forum in my signature about this very thing. One of our members was considering making some out of fiberglas, but it kinda fell through the cracks. You can use his fishing information.

What about this guy:... :drool

He actually lives only 20 minutes away from me. I'm trying to plan an outing with him... schedules are kinda conflicting.

Remember, there are not too many TrailBlazers out there either... and fender flares are not necessarily an off-road item. They're generally more bling than function.
Hi, I’m from Venezuela and I have a Trailblazer SS 2006, Original 4×4 bone I have not made any changes. I would put it like that you have a photo posted on this super cool. I would like if you can recommend me where to start and I have to buy.

 The SS did not come with 4x4... and this picture is of a tahoe, not a trailblazer

His SS also came with a 4.2L.
It is amazing to see how easy it is to jump on the gun when an unusual idea is posted,

Think outside the box for a minute,

For a while GM launched the TrailBlazer SS (with the 4.2L and 4WD transfer case) to boost sales in the badge/image/budget driven Venezuelan market, they went to the extend of advertising the real SS on the public roads but never really sold the one with the LS2 engine on it.

Later on in 2007, GM also launched the 5.3L version to sale something "new" and called the vehicle "V8 Special Edition"

In another bid to introduce an updated look, in 2008 GM took some left over stock of Envoys and badge them up with bowties and called them TrailBlazer.

Some of these are even still available for sale in 2010 as new 2008 model in places like Dubai.

One thing to remember, the world is a much bigger place than the US...and companies are driven to play local markets if they want a slice of the pie.

That's interesting, something I didn't expect

Not intending to offend anyone on here. In the US we often are not made aware of the various marketing anomalies in the non-US markets. But we are familiar with false claims from others in our own market and those individuals are short lived and rarely return. Thank you for your information though as it is much appreciated!

i sent an email to the customer service people asking what they are made out of,how far they stick out,how they attach, what(if any)warranties there are,if they will fit the model years NOT listed.

Ill post what they say if and hopefully when i get a response.

I saw another one when I did my search but they looked like the stock north face edition fender molding, and they didn't have a price listed just an e-mail address.
Hopefully you'll hear something back from them, I still don't like how it hangs down past the door in the photo.

Look similar to Aleks. He only got 3/4 inch extra coverage. They also wont work with the cut fenders many of us offroaders have...

Yeah I was thinking the front looked really thin, but it's worth looking into.
Someone might be able to extend it out with fiberglass and make a mold. If someones willing to do a little R&D of their own. :D

Been lots of talk of that and even someone saying they could and would but even with lots of support nothing came of getting decent flares. Any chance you can do some r&d and get us something...

I could mess around with fiber-glassing them into a wider size but I wouldn't know where to begin on manufacturing them. I've never met him in person but MarkMC lives like an hour up the road from me. Maybe he'd be willing to brainstorm something with me if I buy them.
I'll message him and see if he may have an idea of someone here in Florida that could help.
