Will a 235-80-17 tire fit a NON lifted totally stock setup ? according to the miata tire calc its REALLY close to the original size only gaining 2.3 inches in hight , the less width would help clearing the upper ball joint without using spacers or wheel adapters which here in Utah are illegal.

im not trying to be pushy, however i would like info from those that have used or that know for a fact that they will fit without any modification at all.

im buying today at noon , so i will watch this thread very closely.
thanks all you tire gods
Josh

I dont think it would fit, because the overall Diameter is greater than tires in 265/70 R17 and that was told they wouldn´t fit without lift/adapter..
Overall diameter deviation rolling circumference for 265/70 17 is 7%
Overall diameter deviation rolling circumference for 235/80 17 is 7,66%
..the car is with 265/70 17 1.035 Inch higher than stock
..the car is with 235/80 17 1.134 Inch higher than stock

A tire that narrow on a vehicle that is already narrow will not feel good at all if there is even small winds on the highway. It will also feel very unstable when turning and would be a nightmare hauling anything. You wil not like them at all...

its the same width as my stock tires

what are you referring to as being to narrow ?
