Replacing shift cable linkage bushing at gear shifter

Just a note to all, if you haven't had to replace either shift linkage bushings, it is a good idea to keep a Dorman 14055 kit in one of the little storage compartments in the rear in case the bushing decides to go south.

I've owned 4 Envoys over the years, has happened to me twice, so having the bushing kit on hand can make for a quicker repair.


Mine had just disintegrated and fell out in pieces. If the bushing is in tact are you sure that is the problem?

If you have the replacement bushing, you can see what the replacement shape is and use pliers to try to pry it out.
