How to get the Y-Pipe out?

I am welding a bung in for the Innovate wideband sensor. To get the sensor as high as I would like I cant weld it on the top.

So I decided to pull the Y pipe so I and do it right.

I have the exhaust lose from the manifolds. All four O2 sensors disconnected (back ones out) and I dropped the crossmember.

But I cant seem to find the magic combo to snake it out??

Whats the deal?

Sawzall:D ....j/k... a lot of patience and still your going to bang up the heat shield. Did it for TC install, but for header install I just let them cut the $hit out of it to save time.
I had my eye on the sawzall !

Well I tried everyting and I could not pry that thing out. So I got it down low enough to weld over the top so now it's in the going back together stage.

I am assuming the passenger side is the only one that has a donut gasket? If so I lost the other one !! It's more of a flange to flange design anyway.

Well that Y pipe is a BITCH ! Those front o2 wiring connectors are even worse.

This was supposed to be a simple project. Just wanted a bung for my wideband. Did not plan on making a 6 hour job out of it and I am still not back together.

Grrrr

To get mine out for the header install, I removed the Tranny crossmember, and the small ~1" crossbar behind it. Pulled the catback off the hangers so I could slide it back a few inches, then it came out really easy.
I wonder if the AWDs are different in the area?

I had the crossmember out and there is now way I could pull it back and down far enough to get near that 1" bar??

I finally gave up and got it down far enough to weld the bung. But I am worried about next week when the transmission shop has to install the new Yank converter. I am guessing they will not be able to get the trans down and back with the exhaust in the way.
