I just bought an 08 trailblazer and am planning on having an aftermarket stereo installed including XM, my question is can you use the existing factory antenna and does the car come with an XM adapter box? I have Xm free for 3 months so it must have some type of adapter and if it does where is it located and can it be used with an aftermarket head unit? If it can be used what will I need for the install?:)

it has an antenna, but not like in the traditional sence like the factory radio. for the best reception we mount it ouside of the truck.

Reading a couple threads I think it can be done...just as long as you buy the proper harness/wires it can be done........I bought an aftermarket deck(pioneer 6000-DEH) and had to buy the harness to connect it.....I bought the harness from ebay and the adapter from the local futureshop and they installed it as well........I like the look as compared to buying the xm receiver and installing it separate......and as well welcome to trailvoy!!
