I have a 2003 LT with manual HVAC controls. I have recently noticed a groaning noise from behind the glove box. Upon inspection I have determined that it is coming from the recirculation flap (actuator?). Either way I select, it continues to try and close or open this flap, causing the noise. Can anyone tell me what part I need, where to get it, and how to replace it? Thanks.

And more then likely it is not a boad actuator but foreign debris that is caught in the fan or motor (usually a leaf or small twig) :m2:

how to get access to fan

How do I access the fan to remove debris?

The dealer did one time under warranty when they found a rat sliced and diced in it (made a horendous thumping sound before then). They told me not to park it outside for too long and to keep future nest from under the hood. That's not a fix in my book, and they apparently didn't correct the access problem with future vermin or debris. Hence, my question above to fix it myself rather the dealer charge me this time.
