Wierd electrical problem

I have an 05 Envoy SWB, 220,000 miles 4.2 4WD. Horn stopped working and when I hit the horn pad the right blinker lights up steady on the dash and front light. Additionally, when I put the right blinker on by itself, it blinks VERY fast. I discovered all this happens when the lights are on auto or manually. With the lights off everything is back to normal. Everything else seems to be ok except that I can only see my odometer and transmission displays when its dark out but that has that way for a long time - I don't think its related but thought I'd mention it. Before I go pulling fuses and what not, I thought I'd run run this by you all. It's stock with no mods.

Yup ... good ol' G103.

TJ --- why do YOU think G103 is such a problem? Corrosion? Electrolysis? Torque (of/on the threaded connex)? Chinese crimp-conections on the wires?

I was thinkin' that the base metals of the connections themselves, "flow" to thinner dimensions and that creates higher resistance and ultimately a ground failure.

This junction (G103) is hyper-critical ... amazing that it pops up so much/all the time/frequently.

Update ..... I cleaned every ground point I could find under the hood. I'm confused on the location of ground G103. Some say on the rad. support and some say right fender by the washer reservoir I see one by the reservoir but I can find NOTHING on the support. If it really is on the rad. support, could someone point me to the exact location ?? Every one I could find I wire brushed / cleaned very well. No change. Refer to original post for symptoms. With the way things seem to change with manipulating the light switch I felt the problem was the switch. So, I got an new switch and installed it and sadly, no change what so ever. It's a Standard brand from Rockauto.

I have noticed that with the lights on normal mode, the high beams and the fog lights glow dimly as does the right turn signal on the dash that I only noticed because it was dark out.
Obviously, something is shorting but not blowing a fuse. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I could check next ?
Check the multi-ground location next to the underhood fuse/relay panel. I've found a few troubles there.

IIRC ... that is G103. Maybe. I hope.

It's been awhile since i started this post, time for an update. Not much has changed. I have checked and cleaned every ground point I can find. The 2 on the left fender, one one the firewall, the one on the right fender. and 4 on the engine block (left side). I can't find any others. Again, My symptoms are no horn when lights and or DRL's are on. When lights are on I get a faint glow in the high beams and fog lights and right blinker on dash. right blinker fast flashes when applied. If I manually turn off all lights my horn works. I replaced the light switch with ZERO change. If it's a ground issue I AM STUMPED ! What else can I do ? I had someone check the relays in the fuse box with a meter and they're fine.
Meters and relaysdon't compute. There's no real current pull through the points, so a meter can say OK even if the current carrying ability is 0.001%.

You need a relay tester. I've found several questionable relays on my own TB/RXT --- they ARE getting a little long in the tooth by now anyway.

I cannot recommend just dashing out to the NiLite or Bosch relay stores (both are good) and buying a slug of new relays unless money constantly falls off your money tree in the back yard.

Here's the tester I bought --- but it's not available on Amazon any more --- this is a different selling company of which I have NO information ... but it iS the same tester and approximately the same price.

Components that can be affected are not limited to the list that follows: IP Gauges/Lighting Inoperative HVAC Controls Inoperative Blower Motor Inoperative Radio Inoperative Flashers Inoperative Transfer Case Shift Controls Inoperative Service information ground distribution schematics should be reviewed for complete detail of items grounded at G201. CAUSE The cause of these conditions may be a loose or ineffective connection at ground splice pack G201 located on the right side of the front console area.

CORRECTION: Repair the ground splice pack G201 connection using the procedure listed below.
1. Remove the center floor console.
2. Remove the 4 screws that retain the instrument panel (IP) lower closeout carpet panel to the IP substrate.

Immalookin' at that pix and I think good ol' G201 is a lot easier to access than performing battlefield surgery on the center console.

Here I made a rather inanely amateurish video on just that same access, albeit being an accident by me, one day whilst I was a-working on my hidden Midland MTX575 GMRS radio installation. All one could see now, if one was looking for a MTX575 GMRS radio would be a Cat5e panel jack ....
