Hey so this weekend I decided to start installing some lighting for my 2008 trailblazer.. I did not realize how messy installing the headlight strobes would be and did not read up on them until after I messed up the first headlight, but in the end although there are some chips in the mirror and dust from the drilling in the headlight the strobes look pretty good. I also installed a Whelen Taloon dashlight and plan to install:
1. high beam flashers (got unit just need time to install - Whelen UHF2150A)
2. tail-light flashers
3. rear visor mounted lighting
4. debating on possible tail-light strobe

..incoming hood wires from strobes and flashers routing to switches..

..power wires from all lights ran into center console..

..new fuse box mounted in center console just for emergency lighting..

..power taken from underseat fuse box..

..light switches and scanner all powered up and tested..(not completed)

..windshield mounted whelen taloon strobe light..

..headlight strobe power supply..

..strobes mounted in bottom turn/daylight bay.. (messed up during install)

still more to do but weekend is up so gotta wait till next week any suggestions or things i should change greatly appreciated.. :thx

Nice job, but umm... how about pics of them working?? ;)

Once I finally get off my rear end and hardwire my visor/grille lights, I'm looking to do a similar install in the console, but only have the switches showing.

yea thanks i was debating on where to put them and i figured there would be easiest to hide .. each light has its own switch which is pretty cool plus one main switch which powers them all... so i can flip the main switch nd shut the ones off i dont want .. when i get a chance im also going to add a converter below the switches and make an outlet for my laptop to plug in or whatever else :) any other suggestions would be awesome

Looks great!

I am REALLY interested in the mounting of the Tallon, can you elaborate on that at all? I am looking at relocating my Talon up in that area.

Nice clean install!

Yeah man thanks to help from you :thx

And I used the original suction windshield mount took out the suction cups and cut the bracket to be even straight across.. to mount it to the window I used interlocking adhesive strips I will get you a direct name because the velcro doesn't work. I ran the wire in headliner down the side door panel grounded wire and ran the power line to center console fuse panel I installed for my power.

And thank you I am great at all the wiring but like I said in the emails I cannot take the PITA trailblazer apart but came out okay in the end I will be adding the front highbeam flashers, rear taillight flashers and rear ceiling mounted lights this weekend so check back.

Hope all is well. Thanks again.

Thanks Ralph! I will have to look into that option for my Talon. Would the tape be the 3M Dual Lok tape? It's the same thing they use for the wavy bumper fix on the TB. Good stuff!

Glad I could help you out, even if just a little bit. Looking good!

Okay sorry it took so long been busy... I purchased the fasteners from Radio Shack and they are the (Dual-Lock - Hi Temp / Hi Strength Superlock Fasteners) I don't know if you have EZ-Pass but its just like the window fasteners they send out... the velcro fasteners didn't work I tried doing it that way Saturday and when I was installing the strobes Sunday the Talon fell off window. So far so good with the Superlock Fasteners if it ever comes down I plan on putting it in the same spot and installing it with the radio mount steal that is flexible enough to bend and attaching it to the visor mounts .. Hope its works for you good luck.

Definitely not ha that would drive me insane I like keeping my car clean and good looking. I used Plexiglass, drilled the holes, painted it to match the center console and then put some brackets and a little hot glue ;) Installing taillight flashers tonight should be done and have some pictures soon.

VERY clean, great setup.

As far as mounting an inverter, I mounted mine under the rear seat and ran a small power strip sitting in the back to plug accessories in. Not sure if you'd have room or not in the console? I'd be concerned about cooling..

I'll get pictures of where the inverter is mounted in my truck this weekend so you can get an idea.

I dont know if you can see in the picture but not only did I leave an inch or so in between the scanner for louder volume I also did it for cooling... honestly unless I am at a call the trip to the firehouse is like 5 minutes or less so it shouldn't be getting so hot anyways but would love to see how you mounted yours I am thinking about relocation so I could get a little storage space in the center console back. Even considering moving switches to where change is and hiding a main switch near the fog light. I don't know though haha kinda like my set-up now.
