So i have to get new tires and i have the stock 245/65/17 on a 03 envoy. I have no lift and i dont want to add spacers but i am willing to grind the ball joint down. From the "will it fit" chart i see that i have either choice of 255/65/17 or i can go with the taller tire and get 245/70/17. I really would love to get 255/70/17 but from what i understand ill need a lift for that or spacers which im not willing to do. so what do you think?
What to get ? opinions plz

Just keep in mind if stock size is 245/65/17, if you switch to 255/65/17 when the speedo says 60, you'll be going 61, if you go to 245/70/17 when the speedo says 60, you'll be going 62, and if you switch to 255/70/17 when the speedo says 60, you'll be going 63.1
Most people on here say don't go over 30.5 overall diameter. If your going to grind, you can go to 31. Just a reminder all tire's are diffrent size's. For example:265/70/17 on the General Grabbers are 31 overall diameter and the Yokohama Geolander's are 31.9 overall diameter.
well the general grabber hts in 265/70/17 are 31 diameter and the other tire i like Kumho Road venture APT KL51 in the same size has 31.7 diameter. The kumho wont fit? how much do i have to grind off for the grabbers to fit at 31?
I think 1/4 of an inch. More at bottom of ball joint up like a 45 degree angle.
