You not gonna replace the factory door speakers?
I almost always replace factory speakers. I agree, they don't sound bad but wait until you replace them with some quality aftermarket one's.Well i dont think they sound bad right now especially since i added the new headunit. Do you recommend i replace them?
:crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup:wait till you see the massive magnets on the OEMs:laugh:
Well Im trying to have a good balance im thinking ill go for quality over loudness. I figure 2 12's will be pretty loud even if they are quality. : )are you going for loudness or sound quality? if you get a mutli channel amp you can power the sub and some nice aftermarket speakers
Well i guess since you say so ill do itI almost always replace factory speakers. I agree, they don't sound bad but wait until you replace them with some quality aftermarket one's.
You'll be like :duh: why did I wait.
yes, replace 'em.Well i dont think they sound bad right now especially since i added the new headunit. Do you recommend i replace them?
If you gonna buy your own equip and have someone else install, you are going to get charged more than usual. Most installers don't like this because the only money they make is in the labor.yes, replace 'em.
if your having it installed and buying off the internet, the installer WILL charge you more.
1. get components. The title of your post is "What Should I Get"... So with this being said, your HU was a good start. Your looking at getting 2-3 12" subs while leaving the factory in your doors and dash. More than likely you will be very dissatisfied with the sound (subs will devour your OEM speakers). How about this setup instead,
replace your doors & dash with coaxials
put tweeters in your a pillars like you want
get a beefy 4 channel amp (75x4)
1 15" in the right enclosure with the proper power can sound comparable to 2 12"s
1 mono block sub amp (800x1)
a 3 farad capacitor
Everything should run you like in the neighborhood of about $1300 at Ikesound.com (internet).
Thanks for the ideas and the 4 channel is better the the single channel correct?http://cgi.ebay.com/2-RE-AUDIO-SE10...rQ5fSubwoofersQ5fEnclosuresQQsalenotsupported
2x 10's but just an idea, couldnt find a great price on 12's.

speakers are nearly endless.
the "one" channel or mono block is for the sub, and the 4 channel is for the sub or subsYeah i installed the head unit with my friend, its just i want everything to look professional and dont wanna mess anything up with the amount of money im putting into itAs i said i know literally nothing about amps or subs or speakers for the most part
Thanks for the ideas and the 4 channel is better the the single channel correct?
I have the same HU installed in my '03 TB.
The next step I took was to replace the stock speakers with after market units, I chose a matched pair of 6.5" Kenwoods and for now left the dash Tweeter in place. I am using the HU to power those speakers.
Next plan is to run the wiring for our Kenwood amp that we already have mounted on the back of our Dual 10" box. I found it loaded with MTX speakers from Crutchfield.
Costs:
HU: $410 Amazon
Door Speakers: $50 per pair, wiring adapters included Crutchfield
MTX 10" subs and Box: $225, Crutchfield
Kenwood Amp: $220, Sears
Amp Wiring: $100, Local stereo shop.
Replacing the door speakers was very easy, the Pioneer HU has a nice built in Mosfet PS that will work to keep cost down for now.
Take a look at some other folks installs to see the best way to keep the wiring clean, do yourself a favor, install it yourself, that way, if there is a problem, you have an idea how to fix it and not have to take it back to have the shop find the problem. Amp wiring can be very simple or very difficult depending on how many amps and what add on's you install.
You can also flush mount a remote USB cable and 1/8" stereo cable next to the aux power supplies for Ipod/MP3 use as well.
Best thing, the pride in knowing you did it yourself or with the help of a friend.
