try to make meets interesting
some of you have put together meets and some of you may not have, a few little tip's, I've learned:
1. try to have the meet in a scenic spot, (makes for great pics)
2. offer a bar b q or other types of food and / or drinks, (brings more guys out, a free meal or free beer)
3. parks, forrest preserves make the best meet spot, (those with kids can find things for them to do, ie makes it more family friendly)
4. plan well ahead (giving your guys enough time to ask off work and / or make time to come)
5. if your suppling food and / or drinks don't over do it, ( your list may say 20 guys, your going to get those that pull out at the last minute every meet, never fails)
6. when new guys show up that nobody knows, the crew and I always try to make them feel welcome, (so they'll come out again and tell other's how much fun they had)

:dielaugh:...the real drinkers aren't going to wait for the last guy to arrive, they'll have beer already..
if you want to have beer and you are having it at a state park make sure you can have beer in the park and also might want to have some kind of plan incase of rain, last year at my ATL meet after dinner we were going to go see an outdoor lazer show but it rained and i had no backup plan:duh:

all said is so true, I've found when having a meet / get together at a state park, it's always best to have a pavilion, some of the best meets i've been to have been held over a weekend, best to pick one that isn't a holiday weekend too!!

damn my meet fits the requirements....its just getting the people to show up. right now I've got 3 people 2 of them are for the most part positively going..Its at a local park w/ a pavilion.......though I have chosen the weekend before memorial day (may 23rd &24th):iagree:
