This started a week ago when I had to replace the battery. After replacing the battery, it wouldn't idle with the a/c on. After a search of similar problems on this board, I removed the throttle body and cleaned it with tb cleaner. Idle problem fixed, but now... when it idles in gear with the a/c on I hear a rattle (some would say tick) that seems to be coming from underside the drivers side dash. As I accelerate normally it goes away and comes back at about 1500 rpm than goes away again.

After spending hours trying to track it down, I am thinking it seems to be coming from the rear of the engine. Could I have damaged the tb in any way by cleaning it?

Other than the noise, runs fine, no drop in mileage. I'm stumped.

I figured it out ... Sort of....

The ticking noise was coming from the vac hose connection to the power brake booster. I moved the hose and it quit. Only thing I can think of is somehow the connection was causing the check valve to oscilllate.

Yea, It's quiet again.
