Hello all!

I have a 04 5.3 Rainier with AWD. When I drive it quickly on the highway, then do stop and go driving, it makes a thump...... thump.... thump... thump.. thump. thump, thump thump sound as it increases in speed. I can slightly feel it at consistent speed between 30-50mph too and again upon deceleration. I was recommended a transfer case flush by the dealer, but I want to know if this will be a permanent fix for this problem. I feel like it is doing damage to my tranny as well. Please help. Someone else has to have this same problem.

:tiphat Welcome :tiphat How many miles on your TV? That thumping seems more like a bad tire. However, the transfer case fluid is usually changed every 50k miles.

Welcome...I had some thumping too...right after getting a new set (on my previous Cherokee) went back to Tire Rack & they gave me a new tire. I'm not saying that's the problem, but don't rule it out. :O)
