coming from a new 2002 TB owner, im having a hell of a time finding the exact answer that I am looking for, I can be here for days searching through posts... I've had lifted jeeps and trucks in my past that I have done all the work to myself. now I have my TB. I have a set of 33x12.5 mounted on 17 inch rims that im itching to get on my TB. what do I need to do to fit them? how much suspension, body, cutting? I don't care about the front bumper, ill toss that if I have to! my main concern would be the rear of the front fender well with the fitment of my tires.:bonk:

New and thanks

Howdy - just joined because I was looking for info about tire sizes that fit my TB. I was specifically wondering if 265/65r17s would fit in place of the OEM 245/65r17s without any modifications. It looks like they will. The problem is the tire place I found with Cooper Discoverer A/T3s will not put the 265s on the vehicle for me. I would have to take them off and bring them in and put them back on myself. That's a pain in the ass. Is there any benefit for me to get the 265s vs the 245s, which they also have (and at the same price)? 98% of the driving will be on-road. I will be hunting a bit and driving on logging trails, but I think the 245s would be fine for that. They would probably be better in snow as well. Thanks for any replies!

20" SS wheels, please confirm fitment on 06 TB 2 wd

I am new to this forum, just picking up a 2006 Trailblazer 2 wheel drive LS and the stock wheels and tires are junk.

I really like the look of the 20" SS wheels from a Trailblazer SS and think they should fit. Can someone confirm or break the bad news to me?

Not many wheels fit our vehicles, but the 20" from a TBSS will.
Thanks, I didn't think 4 wheel drive would make any difference to 2 wheel drive as far as wheels go. Thinking I would like to go to about 29 to 29.5 inches tall.
The search is on.

Just wanted to make a note for those looking:

265/70/16 Michelin LTX M/S2 tires on my 2006 LS 4.2 4x4 with NO modifications.

They fit and I've had no problems, however there is evidence of microscopic rubbing on that upper ball joint. Clearance is probably about 1/4". I've put about 10,000 miles on these tires so far in hot and cold weather, on and off road, have taken them up to 108mph, and have had no issues. Love these tires. I'm pretty sure they're the widest & tallest tire possible on this 16" wheel without modifications.
Alright, later in the life of these tires I am not so convinced that they're a good application for the truck.

Biggest problem: too wide for snow applications. Although they wick away water with ease, snow is dangerous. The truck is too light to push these 265 highway tires deep into the snow, so they just float on top and I slide through intersections in town like nobody's business. I will move to a more aggressive tire that is also a 245 or 255 for the next set (before this winter!!).

Second problem: too tall for my 3.42 gears. Although I've gotten up to 25mpg on a 1 hour highway trip (with minimal city driving), the gear/tire combo makes the lower speeds & towing annoying. The truck lacks torque at low rpms, which is where you need it. This is mostly due to the gears being 3.42, and with 3.73 the tire height would not matter nearly as much.

Basically I've noticed that the stock size tires are the RIGHT SIZE when it comes to the 3.42 rear gear and snowy weather.

Otherwise I'm happy with the wear on these michelins. I think I put them on around 112,000 and I'm at 146,000. They hardly look worn and should easily live up to their 70,000 mile warranty or longer.

Hey guys, I've actually been wondering around these forums ever since I bought my TB a couple years but finally decided to register today! Looking to lift my TB to fit 265/70/17 Kenda MT's from I read it may be possible with the 2 in rough country lift and the 1.5" wheel spacers. Is this possible without cutting? I want to thank yall for the info posted to these forums I have done a lot of work to the blazer in the first couple years I've owned. Replaced LCA's UCAs' and Rack Pinion and got most of the information from the Forum! Big Thanks!

I would be shocked and call BS if anybody claims they seriously offroad with 18"+ wheels on trailvoys. Lifted for bling, maybe. But that would be better left for the Appearance forum, not this one.
is this forum for off roading only my lt came with 18's and I just want to know what other tires might fit.got a comment call me

2006 Trailblazer 4x4 4.2 (will 245/75/16) LT tire work ok?

I am new to the forum, I just recently got a 2006 Trailblazer 4x4 with the 4.2 six in it.

I want to put a 6 ply (may have to go to a 10 ply), I am trying to find out if a LT 245/75/16 will work ok and cause the speedometer to be off?

It seems like they do not make a LT235/75/16 that I can find?

Does anyone have recommendations?

thanks

I've read all 65 pages at least 100 times and can't find much on running spacers and no lift so I'm sorry if it has, I have 2inch hub spacers, aftermarket rims 17"x8" , +20 offset what's the largest tire I can go with, from what I've read I'm leaning towards 275/65, any help would be great. Thank you
