This is where we'll discuss potential meets and events.

This is a place for friendly discussion of possible things to do, places to go and people to annoy. :cool:

Anything here is suggestion only and will only become FACT when it's posted to the Chapter's CALENDAR (with all the juicy details). Once it's posted to the calendar, barring potential grievous bodily harm or nuclear war, I'm not going to change any details as that will just screw up everything. :coffee

I'm not big on last minute change - especially seeing as I have a 4 hour drive to get just about anywhere. :hissy:

*********************************************************

:hissy:

Suggestions...

Ok, here's some suggestions for meets.

I WHOLE HEARTEDLY support these events be created to include spouses, significant others, friends and kids! (my wife was seriously upset that she was the only woman there - the kid got bored 10 minutes into all of it because he had no one to associate with either.)

Weekends are better. Saturdays work best as it allows those of us who travel to not rush home the night of so we can get to work the next day.

Long weekends are ok, but should be checked with everyone first as it seems those are weekends some of us do family things on (granted, these meets, depending on what types of events are planned COULD become family things). I'll try to put up a poll for the long weekend events.

Events should be physically neutral (ie: no football playing, no heavy lifting... ) Not all of us are physically fit or care for sports games.

Change it up! It doesn't always have to be in the same place or the same locations all the time. Variety is the spice of life!

Oh, and BRING YOUR CAMERAS!! We like to take pics of everything and post them up!

:thumbsup:

**********************************************************************

:thumbsup:

Suggested ONTARIO meet locations...

I'm hoping this generates a few suggestions and ideas.

I've spent the last little bit analyzing member locations and possible meet locations. I had one sole factor in mind when tabulating this: "I'm willing to drive 4 hours to get to a meet".

If I'm willing to do that kind of travel, I expect the same dedication from the rest of our members.

With that in mind, I've come up with the following list for PRIMARY MEET LOCATIONS:

-> Barrie: - 400 Market
- MapleView Dr. ~ Walmart Superstore Parking lot
- Bayfield St. ~ Canadian Tire Parking lot
- Bayfield St. ~ Toys R Us Parking lot
Barrie affords us access to Barrie Park (waterfront), Wasaga Beach
(Wasaga 500 Kartways, the Beach strip...) & Blue Mountain/
Collingwood.

-> Toronto: - Robowrench
- Centennial Park & Indy
- Bluffer's Park, Scarborough
- Fairview Mall
- Yorkdale Mall
- Square One Mall
- Denny's (40 Courtney Pk Dr.)
- Burlington Big Box Mall (Sobeys)
Toronto affords us TONS of stuff. We're only limited by our willingness
to do stuff.

-> Ottawa: - Denny's (2208 Bank St.)
- Blue Cactus (Byward Market)
I'm not horribly familar with what's to do in Ottawa, so speak up there
peeps!

Remember, these are suggestions AND primary locations. Where we end up from there, who knows!
