I've read a lot of posts about it, im sorry if I missed it somewhere along the way. In order to check the front links, are you supposed to move it up and down, or rotate them? I can grab mine and rotate them more than just a bit.

Think of the movement they are expected to resist - up and down.

They're built like a ball and socket hip joint. They HAVE to be able to rotate a bit.

Bill is right, but if they are very easy to twist, they need to be replaced.

I can actually twist them with just 2 fingers

its a steady thump while I drive. The rotors were cut about 12k ago and im sure I need brakes but I cant see a warp rotor being the only cause for the thumping, so I started looking around the forum and the swaybar links seem to pop up a lot on here.

No, if they're real loose, change 'em.
The only other suggestion, and you may have covered it (I didn't go back and look), while you have things apart, change the sway bar bushings. Easy change.

I agree with this- some on here change their front and rear endlinks at 20-50K....
I changed my front endlinks- at about 132,000.
the rears are still factory and no noise...
But I do live in Southern California...
the other guys live in pothole hell.

I'm in "pothole hell, ice ruts and frost heaves in winter, potholes in spring, paving repair bumps in summer.
I have 120,000 (give or that),; and I have changed the front twice and need new ones now, rears have been changed once and are ok.

Mileage is not the problem, it is road surface :yes:

I also live in pothole hell. In changed the fronts at 80,000 and the rear need to be changed bad at 85,000 miles. I guess I couldnt hear them over ther front making so much noise.

I just noticed that both my upper Ball joints are gone!
Sway bars still seem fine.

I saw a deal on eBay....Its pretty much a whole front rebuild kit for $140
Just thought id let you all know incase you were thinking bout doing it.
