Help! I just had my 2003 Trailblazer EXT in for body damage, and asked the shop if they could help me loosen the rear differential plug. They said it was so stripped, they were afraid they would damage the threads in the housing. I can only assume my useless exhusband had a hand in stripping it. Now what do I do? A shop won't touch it, and she is humming in the rear a little more than I would like to hear. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks! :)

Use a dremel and make something to grip the bolt with and remove it. I'm not sure why the shop has no brains at all?

Have another bolt ready to replace it with. If you want to change your fluid, that's what you need to do. I'm not sure exactly what method they would use that would damage the threads in the housing?

Or, just never change your differential fluid.
