Steering feels "squishy"

1908 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  the roadie
Whenever I'm driving around, as I turn corners it feels like the steering is a little squishy. Kind of like a light grinding feeling in the wheel. I did a manual inspection and everything under the hood and in the chassis looks good.

Wondering if there is a fluid or belt problem?

Thanks!!

More likely to be a lubrication problem in the steering shaft ujoint or rack, or deteriorating tie rod ends, ball joints, or wheel bearings. Is it worse while turning one way compared to the other when driving, or does it grind even if you steer it when stopped?

Any leaks? PS fluid level OK? How many miles, and has it ever been treated to a new belt?
