I need to order a new spare tire winch for my 2004 model. Does anyone know the difference between the two OEM choices?

- W/xuv

or

- W/o xuv

What is the difference?

Thank You, Larry

I'm sure someone will correct me however, the xuv usually means the extended version of the truck.

So w/o xuv should mean without or Not the extended version.:undecided

Car and Driver magazine:
"For the 2003 model year, GMC added a stretched wheelbase Envoy model known as the XL in an effort to add a little more utility to the Envoy line. It is this vehicle upon which the latest Envoy is based, the Envoy XUV - aka the Extra Utility Vehicle."

the other poster is right
the extended version is known as the ext
the xuv is the one that had the rear ROOF that slid open to allow you to carry big stuff.... the rear cargo door also opened sideways or down---
