We have a very distinct front end wobble in our 2005 2wd 4.2L EXT LS at slow speeds. Most noticeable between 20 to 30 MPH. Strong enough that you can see the hood wobble and the front seat passenger's knees wobble sideways a little. Also you can feel a slight pulsing of the vehicle (not the brake peddle) when coming to a stop. There is no wobble in the steering wheel or pulsing in the brake peddle. Everything smooths out above about 30 or 35 MPH. It doesn't seem to effect steering and the tires seem to be wearing evenly.

This has been going on since we bought it used about two years ago. It now has about 90k miles on it. We've had the alignment checked when we bought it and have had the "problem" checked a few times periodically since and no one (mechanic) has been able to figure it out.

Any idea what could be going on here? A friend said he heard some Chevys just do that. (This is our first Chevy.)

A wobble sounds like a bad tire. Get it up safety on stands and let it idle in gear so all the wheels spin. Watch the surface of the tire for the wobble.

It does sound like a broken belt in the tire, but you would think an alignment shop or a mechanic would have spotted that. Switch the front wheels with the back wheels and see what happens.
