should I paint my rims?

I just wanted an opinion from you guys on whether or not to paint my rims.
I cant decide if the chrome is a nice accent to the vehicle or to black them out.

thats hard thing to answer IMO its about what you want not what other people want you truck to look like but in your case I think blacked outed rims would not look the best maybe black rims with a machined lip :m2:

Well to be honest, my budget is what's holding me back.
Otherwise I'd slap some black 22's on it.

I could mask the lip off so there's still a chrome part to the rim.

you can plasti dip them tosee if you like them in black, then just peel off

Okay cool, what's the best way to paint the brake calipers?
I was thinking either a shiny chrome paint or black.

Black would look ok. Peel that plastic crap off between ur windows. Looks a lot better without..:thumbsup:

I would not paint stock rims black IMO!! I would keep as is since you got some chrome on your car! :m2:

Are you talking about my super cool fake added chrome? :woot:
I'm removing it all this weekend anyway because I've had it forever and certain parts are peeling.

No lol. Talking about the black plastic between the windows. Where the slt logo is. It peels right off. But lots of adhesive on there. But worth the work of taking it off!!

Go to the gallery of MickeyNice. That's how I got the idea from his tv. Its on page 3 in the envoy gallery. Sorry I have no pics. :bonk:

Well this is what I have done: derack,paint side mirrors,paint gmc logo on grill same color as truck,take moldings off of doors, removed resonator, shaved antenna(got crappy reception so bought a shorter one), tint, that's the cheap stuff u can do. My future mods include: lowering kit and new wheels. Also wanna paint the wiper cowl.

Used goo gone, old credit card and some patients too take adhesive off. Let me know how urs turns out.

if you want to see if you'd like them painted black I would try plasti dip because if you don't like it, it just peels off. I going to it to my wheels this week or next week and maybe make a thread. I did it to my front Emblem and the rear "Envoy" and "GMC" logo. They came out pretty good considering I kinda rushed it, (I'm kind of impatient, I'm probably going to redue it this spring). Its only $5.99 a can so its not bad.

Since your voy is already painted silver, I'd powdercoat ur stocks charcoal grey or if you could find a good deal put the acadia factory 19's on there and yes peel that slt emblem off :yes: remove fake chrome trim but then again it is your truck so you know what you'd like NICE VOY by the way
