Hello everyone. First time post here, so I hope I put it in the right spot.

Over the weekend, realized my shifter had been a little "loosey goosey". Before I had time to fully inspect, I put the truck in park and afterwards couldn't get the shifter to move. After some struggles, I found the emergency release on the side to get it back into neutral to start back up. Next time I put it into park, the vehicle thought it was in reverse! Put in neutral, engage parking brake, and inspect underneath... Shifter cable isn't making the full motion into the park position. Can manually tap the lever on the transmission into park, but cannot do it from the shifter. Cable doesn't "appear" to be damaged. Any thoughts??

I've searched the forums and found a couple cases of the neutral safety switch, is there any way of testing the switch or adjusting it to find out if that is indeed the culprit?

Thank you in advance!
