I have read many of the posts and none seem to help.
I have an '02 Envoy 4.2 liter
Check engine light came on so i did the following:
I have cleaned the throttle body
Replaced spark plugs
Replace coil packs 2 and 4
Disconnected battery for 30 minutes
Its not throwing codes anymore but

the rpm needle is jumping around at 580 - 630 while stopped and in gear (seems low i think it used to idle at 650)
still almost sounds like it is missing at idle but have full power once it starts going
seems to hesitate a moment at initial acceleration
Had some oil leakage from camshaft actuator solenoid on to electrical connection (cleaned it)

Any other suggestions as to what may be causing idle problem

How many miles?

What were the old codes before you fixed some things?

What kind of plugs and what gap did you use?

old code was p0013 and misfire in coil pack 2 (replace 2 and 4)

used ac delco iridium spark plugs with factory gap ( i did not confirm gap)

... i did not confirm gap...
I would recommend to trust, but verify. Use the gap in your Owner's Manual and set them yourself, to make sure nothing was bumped in packaging or shipment. And the same plugs might be used in various vehicles with different gap recommendations, so that's another reason to do it yourself.

Otherwise you are on top of the usual suspects.

BlueMarble, did you ever find a solution for this?
I have a '02 LTZ with I6. I am experiencing precisely what you have described.
I have done the following:
replaced plugs
cleaned throttle body
reset PCM
replaced engine and transmission mounts
replaced water pump

Did you ever find a solution to the rough idle issue?

make sure you sat the coilpacks back onto the spark plugs correctly. I know when I had the same issues, I resat all 6 coilpacks just to make sure.

you may be getting water in the coils look to see if you see rust on the plugs that is a sure sign
