Replacing trans cooler line

I Took A Shortcut

Since my lines were not rusted from the transmission to about the midpoint to the radiator, I used a mini tubing cutter and cut the lines right about where the 7 and 8 numbers are in the diagram in the first post. (Also, there was no way for me to get my ape-like arms in between the transmission and frame, exhaust pipe, manifold, etc.)

When I installed the new lines from the radiator back, I cut the new lines using the mini tubing cutter once again and used brass compression fittings to couple the lines together. I offset the cuts so the compression fittings would not be next to one another and I slipped some fuel line hose over the compression fittings and about 6 inches either side of the fitting and zip tied them in place to prevent rubbing and vibrations from making holes in the aluminium tubing.

I think that would work also. Just make sure the correct hose type is used to ensure against thermal/chemical/pressure breakdown.
