Replacing Spark Plugs

Hi Everyone. I drive a 2005 TrailBlazer with about 76,000 miles. I want to replace the spark plugs and originally bought NGK Platinums ($3 plugs). However after doing some research (which I should have done prior to buying the plugs :duh

I realized the ones in the manual are AC Delco double platinum plugs (which run about $6 a plug). However they do not make them anymore and the guy at Auto Zone said that they now recommend the Iridium plugs ($7 a plug). I then looked in one of those do-it-all manuals they have at Auto Zone, and that manual says to use an AC Delco platinum ($3 plugs). I am very confused on what to get... are the NGK Platinums I have good enough? Or should I buy Iridiums? Should I go with AC Delco or NGK?

Please help!

simply get the AC delcos--- doesnt matter which.

it dont matter witch plugs you use if it was me i would get the ac delco plugs just make sure you set the gap right

get the AC delcos- either the platinums or Iridiums.... which ever you can find at your store.
I think the Iridiums are the newer plugs.
But as long as theyre AC delco- you should have no problems.

Other members have installed other brands-- and the engine runs bad.

Not 100 percent true. I bought Autolite Iridiums and haven't had any problems over the last 10,000 miles or so.

I would agree that most people who use Bosch multi tip plugs do eventually have problems.

:iagree: Running the Densos and $8.00 a plug and runs much smoother than the new Delcos I put in.:m2:

now that you mention that...
does denso make the plugs for AC DELCO? or was it NGK?

I would go with AC Delco Iridiums and be done with it, and you don't really want to mess with the gap as those tips are sinsitive as hell and they are pregaped. Just get the 41-130s

NGK makes the plugs for AC Delco. Denso is one of a few companies that actually use an iridium tip versus a coating like on the Delcos. With the Delcos I have read of people rubbing off the coating while gapping the plugs. Convinced me to go with them especially when Rockauto had them for $8 and some change versus where I seen them go for $20 +. Not saying anything is wrong with the Delcos, but I wanted a little better quality.:m2:

replacement plugs

I currently have an 07' TB with the 4.2L running about 70,000 miles. I am thinking of swaping out my factory iridium plugs with the BOSCH iridium four prong plugs. My thoughs are that they will allow for a hotter burn and increased throttle response. However, does anyone know if this plug is safe fore a TB with as many miles as I have????

We have yet to see anyone run Bosch plugs in these engines, and not eventually have problems. Some have reported no initial problems, but a few thousand miles later end up changing them.

Doesn't run the same...had the bosch +4 and it just didn't feel like it was running the way it should...swapped them out for the ac delcos 41-103 and it was like night and day:thumbsup:

for me the new E3 diamonds plugs are the best i have increased my fuel and horsepower by more than 25%

Really ?! So if you we getting like 16 mpg your now getting 20? Or if you where getting 20 MPG highway your now getting 25? Plus a jump of almost 40 to 50 hp?!

I have not heard anything good about Bosch! I personally would stay away from them. Just my :m2:

Yea i bought several Bosch oxygen sensor ,some of them kept trowing codes ,,, On one jeep ,IT would run for an hr. then just stop ,could be just bad luck

yes the spark that the e3 produce burns all the fuel at the combustion instead of wasting alot of it with other plugs and leaves less build up so far that i have noticed.
