After doing a search could not find this exact topic. I have an 05 Trailblazer LT and am having trouble with the rear wiper. I can use it at any speed but it will not turn itself off when I turn the switch off. When I turn the engine off it will finally reseat itself, but as soon as I turn the engine back on the wiper will start wiping even though the switch is in the off position. At this point I have removed the fuse, but I am looking for a fix to this problem. Any ideas... a new switch, motor anomoly? Thanks in advance!

Well, the switch talks to the body control module (BCM), mounted under the rear seat.

The rear wiper motor (with has an internal processor) talks to the liftgate Module (LGM), you guessed it, inside the liftgate.

The BCM and the LGM communicate over a serial data bus.

I think the problem is in the rear. At the wiper motor assembly, the LGM, or the wiring going into the liftgate. Might be a broken wire (in the bundle where the bundle hinges at open), or perhaps a bad ground, in the gate, or in the bundle going into the gate. The grounds, by the way, are black wires.
