I've been changing the oil on the 2006 4.2L LS 4WD since 2007 and have tried all kinds of filter removal solutions since it's up there at a position only a contortionist could love.
Since the AC Delco PF61e does not have a nut on the end like those nice WIX filters that cost a lot, the best solution I've found is to grab the filter with the filter pliers to loosen, slide the Oil Udder onto the filter and unscrew by hand.
7 quarts Kirkland 5W-30 synthetic puts it right at the full mark where it stays until the next oil change.
My 2002 TB is around 6.5 quarts, maybe slightly more, but definitely not 7.0. If I were to put 7quarts in it the dipstick would should well over full. I have even had a drain a little when it was filled at a Walmart lube years ago, because it was over the full mark. They put in what the manuals say it should have, and it was too much for mine. I have been changing my owns for years now, and can make sure it is filled to what the dipstick says is the proper level.
