I have a 2006 SS. When the check engine light came on the code that came up was P0445 for evap leak. After futilely replacing the gas cap several times... and reading all the different posts about how to fix it I am still not sure which part I need. Likely cause is the evap vent above the fuel tank or maybe the purge valve?

Can anyone tell me if I need the dealer listed part of 25950499 (replacement part for 21996868) or if the suburban part 25932571 will work? The suburban part is a lot cheaper and supposedly the same!

Item #11 is the vent (GM #21996868), #14 is the purge (GM #12597341, ACDelco #214-1678).

I would be curious too, I replaced both the solenoid and the purge yet I still have the code.

Is it possible the new gas cap from canadian tire was wrong? or not functioning correclty?
