Those codes are just the possible tip of the iceberg. P0017 has a couple of possible causes, and was also mentioned in some TSBs that the dealer could use for troubleshooting.
Are you a dealer-phile or a dealer-phobe?
The other code could be a bad thermostat or coolant temperature sensor. Have you been noticing the temp gauge sitting at anything but 210 lately? What's been your experience looking at the gauge and where the needle sits?
hey all.. had ruff ruff running engine and engine warning light on dashboard.. autozone said p0017 and p0128.. thought best to take to dealer.. they replaced gm parts 12620112(51.42$) and 12615873(90.65$) as well as clamp 533-1
they also listed codes p0014,p0463,p0128 exhaust camshaft posistion actuator solenoid, they replaced camshaft position acutator solenoid(probably 12615873)
ive got 61,000 miles on this 2005 tlbz... wife was questioned about how often we changed oil! oh yeah.. hazardous waste cost me 9.59 and shop supplies cost 19.74$!
