[TBLT03]

I have an 03 TB and an 05,both are 4.2 L. The 03 takes a fram PH 3675 and the 05 a PH 9837. Anybody know the difference?

Not sure, but IMHO, i would stay away from FRAM filters completely.. They are no good and have cardboard inside them. Just stick with a high quality filter such as Mobil1 or even ACDelco

The threads are slightly different, thats why they are different part numbers.

Stay away from everything Fram in general, I prefer Amsoil EaO filters, Bosch filters, and K&N filters. Those are the order I use them in, Amsoil's by far the hardest to get but I like the Bosch design and its half the price of the K&N.

The Mobil1 filters that I use (MI-206) list the same filter for 2002-2009.

Why is the Fram 9837 filter for my 05 about an inch shorter than the factory ac delco filter? Diameter is the same but ac delco filter is about an inch longer than the fram one, does this mean the ac delco holds more oiil?

Probably holds more oil, but also needs more room for the anti-drain valve.

No. The 9837 is shorter. The 9837 has no anti-drain valve. However, the difference between the two Fram filters, w/wo. anti-drain valve is only 0.02"

by the way- My local walmart carried AC DELCO filter for the Trailblazer. PF-61.

it also fits our 07 Impala.. (Changed it yesterday).
