I've sorta just been "browsing" this site for the past few weeks with no need to yet post. But this one I just can't leave alone...
It sounds like most of you know nothing about nitrous or how it works and you're consequently giving horrible and false information to the OP.
You can run nitrous--wet or dry--on a STOCK motor all day long. The only thing you would need is colder plugs. It's not a "track-only" type thing and it's actually SAFER than a turbo or supercharger.
I ran nitrous for three years on my Sunfire, stock motor, and had no problems at all. Nitrous burnouts, highway passes and anywhere between 40 and 60 h.p. jets; MANY bottles were emptied. When I tore the motor down to be built, pistons and valvetrain were clean as a whistle. The owner of our shop ran a 150-shot on his stock 3100 1996 Grand Prix until he decided to build the motor for more. Internals were mint and no damage was noticed.
aK_47: If you really want to know how nitrous works, hit me up or check out the NOS website's FAQ section. It's a plethora of knowledge.
