alt whine or any interference noise is usually not a problem with the speaker but more likely to be from the source unit or the amplifier. i would lean towards the amp. At my shop we almost always eliminate the bose systems when doing and audio upgrade.

it would make a differance if the speaker was grounding out but with it being all factory i highly doubt it. in the 20 years i have been installing i have never seen factory equipment or wiring short to ground unless it has been messed with.
