I just purchased a 2006 Envoy Denali. This vehicle has the stock navigation system with the monitor in front. Do I need to purchase a different deck to make my subs work? I am only looking to get a 10" with a 250 Watt Amp. I am looking into a custom Sub Box to fit in the back. Anyone ever do anything like this before? New to the sound system world and looking for help
Nope. All you need is to get a low-level signal to your amp, and it can be done while keeping the factory deck. Before we can go any further, does your truck have the bose system?
You can use an adapter, which is prewired with 2 connectors. You unplug the connector from the factory radio, plug that into one of the adapter connectors, and then the other adapter connector plugs back into the factory radio. It will give you RCA outputs as well as a turn on wire for the amp.
Another method is to take the low-level inputs to the bose amp, and hardwire in rca leads. You''l have to also wire in a turn on lead for the amp.
Each has its advantages (cost vs. easy hook up) but the end result is the same.
I have a 2005 Trailblazer LT factory unit with on star and Bose , and I want to add an MTX req bass adapter ,would I need a harness and if so would i need to cut any wires? I'm kind of new to all of this so all the help I get would be very appreciated.
Well I'm kind of on a low budget and I just want to add 2 10" subs for a little more bass and I was thinking of purchasing the Mtx Req it at future shop?
Might be better off getting a PAC adapter, that will give you RCA outputs for your sub amp and a remote turn on lead while retaining all factory head unit options.

I was wondering if there is any difference and if so which one would you guys recommend for me to put in my Trailblazer ?
Now this PAC it seems like its a good way to go but what model did you install
Ive seen a lot on the website and I'm guessing it way better choice to go with ?
There is a known case where an 04 had an 05 audio system, so I highly recommend contacting them directly first to verify that this is the correct model. They may ask you for a specific RPO code from the sticker in the glovebox.
The re-Q is also a processor, and one of its features is to adjust the bass output if/when a factory deck cuts back on the bass output at higher volume levels. To the best of my knowledge, the factory bose head unit does not process anything, any processing is done in the factory amp.
The re-Q needs to be hard wired into the stock wiring.
The PAC does not do any processing, but then again processing will not be needed.
The PAC is hooked up by unplugging the connector from the factory deck, plugging that connector into the PAC, and plugging the connector coming out of the PAC into the deck. Run your rca leads and remote turn on lead to the PAC and you're set.
That clears it up ,thanks once again for the help.:undecided
I'll post up some picture as I go and tell you guys how it turned out.
:thx
