I am looking to buy my first Trailblazer EXT or Envoy XL. Since 2006 was the last year the extended versions were made I figure this would be my best choice. I know there were some engine upgrades in 2006. Is there any other differences between an 2005 and 2006? The 2005 are rated at 18 hwy vs 20 hwy for the 2006. Is this a function of the engine upgrades or a regulation change.

Very late production '05 had some of the engine modifications as in the '06 model engine. Basically the there were some intake changes, a compression boost and the addition of a mass airflow sensor. Go to '06 if you can as it has the newer style grill on the Trailblazer model.
