I have been thinking of this for some time. What about putting down tape or a shaped sticker on the taillight. Then doing like 2 coats. Taking the sticker/tape off and doing 2 more coats? So some is lighter then the rest?

That will work. I was going to do that, but i ended up removing all of the tint, taping off all three lights on each side, and spraying the rest satin black. I didn't feel safe with the tint. Not to mention I have inspection in January and they would never pass.

just don't do to many coats. i used well over a can on each tail and head light. Think I used 7 cans total between tails, headlights, reverse/rear reflector, fods, and those front corner lights envoys have. it looked awsome but the cops hated it. During the day when the ambient light is brights you could barly see my brakes and turnsignals. At night you could see from a distance, but as soon as the car got close to me there headlights would drown out my tails and they wouldn't be able to see me. The only thing that saved me from tickets was that you could still clearly make out the DOT molded into the tails so the police thought they were stock. I did way tomany coats. think my next set will be only 4 or so.

How did you remove the tint? I thought it said it doesn't come off.:undecided
Have any pics of what they look like now? i.e. what parts you painted.
