Light behind power windows/lock is out

1273 Views 8 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  P07r0457
Hi, the light behind my power windows on both sides of my car are out. I took them apart and found the small removable light bulb in there, which was blown. I cannot seem to find out what kind of bulb this is

I went to Autozone and they had no clue. I thought about the led mod, but I don't have time to do all that.

Does anyone know where I can just get a replacement bulb. Let me know if pictures will help.

The usual places that have exploded parts views don't show those as replaceable parts. I've never taken mine apart, but I bet some people who have done the LED mod were packrats and saved their bulbs and can speak up.

Pics always help, especially if you have a good macro mode.

Here is what I am doing..Looking for that small bulb. I need 3 of them

I searched high and low for those same ones. I FINALLY found them, at MOUSER.COM they are 56 cents a peice. The only difference is the shape of the bulb. They are 14V 0.1A. I have replaced them in my truck and my girlfriends and they worked perfectly. Here is the part # 560-DNW1DW10

Thank you!
No problem bro, gotta help out the local CT guys ;-) (By the way I just realized you were from CT too) hah!
You had already done the hard part... should just do the LED mod, at this point, imo. less than 5 minutes to do it.
I am not too sure how to do it with the resistors and everything. I guess if there was a really good how to I would think about it. Something that took it from the basics.

It's VERY simple.

Remove stock incandescent bulb from plastic holder:

Insert the LED into the holder.

Wrap one lead of a 470ohm resistor around the holder, and solder to the longer LED lead. Take some wire and wrap it around the other side of the holder, and solder to the shorter LED lead.

Insert, twist, install, enjoy.
