Left Signal Turns Hazards On!

Hello all and thanks for viewing,

I'm having an issue with my left signal on my 03 Voy, right signal works fine. When I try to give a left signal, my hazard light comes on, it doesn't happen all the time, but it's happening more often now, than it did before.

I read somewhere that there was a recall on this or a similar issue, however I phoned GM and they told me that my truck wasn't effected by this recall or issue.

Any suggestion on what to look for, or what could be the problem?

Much appreciated and thanks. :)

In these trucks, the sigs and the haz lights are controlled by the same flasher. My money is on a bad flasher.
i agree with ray:iagree:
Thanks for the quick reply, is there a way to test the flasher to be sure, or a way to isolate the problem. Also, how much are they worth and are they exclusively a GM part?

I not sure if this has anything to do with but I have an 03TB with a recall for 05044 INTERMITTENT INCORRECT TURN SIGNAL OPERATION. Its worth a shot to see if you have a recall for that. Just reply to this link with your vin: http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=49935&page=28.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately I've already phoned GM, they told me my truck wasn't effected by the recall.
Well that sucks. If I remember correctly they told me I didnt have any recalls either but when I had my Vin ran it said I did.

Oh! so what did you do?
I realise this isn't very constructive to your question, but can you imagine how confuzing this must be for anybody around you while you drive.
I haven't taken it in yet to get it fixed. But the problem that I was having with mine was the hazard would just shut off by them selves.

Yes, I truly feel their pain! :D

That's not good either! I just changed the front Diff on my truck, the dealer wanted $5000 for the part and $1500 for labor! Yes, crack is cheap these days apparently!

I got it fixed for $2500, I wonder how much this is going to set me back. Also changed the HVAC controller recently, and now this!

Ask me if I hate GM, no, go ahead ask me!
Is there a way to search for the part number and cost? I've already checked with a parts place, it's a dealer's part only!

They lie.

I found the AC Delco part number and posted previously about it, and it's not a dealer only part.

ACDelco #15231201

$38 from rockauto.com

YMMV in Canada.

That's what I'm talking about, that's cheap, I'm gonna go check them out, thanks for your help.

For those in Canada, you can search for the location nearest parts place near you by going here.

Thanks all.
