Alright, now this is my last product selection forum for a sub/amp, I SWEAR. But I was going to go with the Kicker ZX300.1 because I was told it was good and would run off of 8 gauge wiring, but then I found the Rockford Fosgate P325.1 and thought that looked good but it needs 4 gauge so I'd be spending the money for that. I have already picked out the Rockford Fosgate Prime R1L-1x10 that run at 300 watt rms. I think the RF is more aesthetically pleasing with the cover for the wire terminals but that's second to performance.

Here are some links:

Yeah, I know it's performance but if it was a draw I'd go for the RF because of the cover. Is there an advantage for running 4 gauge compared to 8 at this low of power?

Alright, then running 4 to a d-block then to two amps with 8 gauge a peice would be bad?

The advantage of 4AWG vs 8AWG is based on Ohms law. For long runs of power or speaker cable the generally the heaver the better. Voltage drop across the cable is is base on the max. current draw of the amp or speaker as resistance will remain relatively constant.and source voltage should be relatively constant at 14.7V (engine running) or 12.2 (engine off). If you know the length of the power cable and the max. DC amp draw of your equipment here is a link to a nice article and calculator.

Oh okay, I was just going by what the manufacturers were telling me. The money I spend on the new 4 gauge will save me the money for the shop running the 8 for me. The 8 was too flimsy to go through the boot.

yes listen to whatever the manufacturers say
Crutchfield also told me that. But I'm doing the RF because I guess it comes with a certificate that says the manufacturer tested it to work at 390 watts at 2 ohms and 240 at 4 ohms.

I plan on doing the dual RF prime 10's and late buy something larger in a ported box that I can swap out when I don't need cargo space.

I'll post pics after it's installed, with the cover i should be able to make it so you see minimal to no wires
