I have a 2004 Trailblazer. The high beams light up in the "Flash to pass" mode but do not turn on in the permanent mode. I had it serviced at the dealership when I first bought it and it lasted about 6 months, now it is doing the same thing.

Any suggestions how to repair the problem myself?

I think :iagree:.

Two wires from the multi-function switch tell the BCM to turn on the highs.
The yellow is the flash-to-pass, the light green is the beam selector.

The switch grounds one of these leads (depends upon which function you select), providing the signal to the BCM.

Yes, it sounds like the switch, but............. it could be the wire, or the connector,

I would need to test the wire before I bought a new switch on spec.

I would ground the light green wire to see if that forces the headlights to high (or check for a ground on the light green wire when the switch is operated (this is probably the safer test)).
