Is there a trick to be able to quickly remove the top plastic panel of the hatchback that holds the 3rd brake light on a 2004 trailblazer? The clear coat is pealing off and needs to be repainted.
Thanks in advance.

I know one aspect of this problem - the wiring has to be disconnected first.

Open the hatch, not just the window --- and at the top of the doorway, pull the gasket straight toward you and allow the headliner to drop down so you can access the electrical connex.

Don't be afraid - you can put the gasket back into place very easily and the headliner will go right back into place.

I watch a guy named VEHCOR and I see him removing doors and panels all the time - but I never noticed a TB rear hatch removal. But he sure makes it look easy on a lot of GMs ..... and easy enough for one person.

Here's one of his GM repairs --->

Thanks but I might just use paper and tape and paint it on the vehicle.
