I'm having binding problems when making turns, kind of like my AWD is stuck in low or something.

I was told that I could remedy this by removing the front driveshaft, basically making my Rainier RWD.

any advice on this is welcome.

Thanks

Sounds like the transfer case is putting too much drive torque to the front drive train when it isn't needed. When was the transfer case fluid changed last? It needs to be changed every 50K miles.

This could also be caused by a stuck encoder motor.

My 2003 Trailblazer EXT locked up while driving on interstate after using the 4x4 earlier that morning. Was able to get it to a close by dealer and had the front drive shaft and both output shafts removed after being told the front differential was seizing. Drove it home 5 hours that day and for several years afterward with no problems.
