how can i tell if my fan clutch is going bad or if its just the box in the fusebox? my fan clutch only gets loud sometimes but its starting to happen more frequently and still after awhile the loud noise goes away.
and your sure its not getting loud because it is in use?
I mean it is hot out now not that I live near you! haha.... so I would guess it being hot out and less rain the last few weeks the clutch would be engaging more under normal use.

well if the clutch fan is engaged and it sounds like that, the only thing i can say is. when your fan clutch is engaged that is what is sounds like.

I cant think of anything that would increase the sound when it is engaged except maybe some paper on one of the fins or one of the fins missing a piece, or a fin bent.

turning it by hand you dont notice it loose or wobbly?

otherwise the sound it makes wouldn't have anything to do with what engages it
