I was driving my 06 Denali on Thursday at about 70mph and a truck pulled in front of me and forced me to slam on the brakes to avoid a 50mph impact!
As soon as I let off the brakes, the engine started rattling like a woodpecker. It’s down on power, no smoking, no vibration, oil level good (but needs changing), the rattle is there 95% of the time but does go away from time to time. There is also no check engine light.
When this first occurred I had assumed that the rattle was from the tire striking the front valance because every once in awhile my tires will lightly contact the valance in certain turning/bump/braking situations.
