Custom Air Intake / Resonator Removal

Finished modify my air intake thanks to the help of other member posts on this site. The MAF sensor really hinders extreme modifications to the stock system. My goal was just to keep it clean with minimal intrusiveness. Also wanted to be able to put back the stock air flow if needed. So no cuts to the stock setup. A K&N air filter is in the airbox. Looks good. Sounds even better. Pics below.

The next step is to fabricate a "cold air" duct that will pipe into the airbox for a ram air effect. Still studying my options on that one.

is it abs pipe

How is it holding up? Dont exactly want plumbing in there but it is just the intake i guess
Looks Good!!

I just removed the resonator my 06 L6 TB. However, I did it the more expensive way. I bought the spectre performance piping. I will upload a pic in a day or so. Well it works like a mother!!! The TB rocks on the top in!!! Not only that I am looking to buy HPTurners just to try to eek out what I can from it. After reading the thread,"So this is how our throttle body works?", I can see why these trucks have so many issues.

May be GM knew that the L6 was a kick * motor but had to chop it's legs off to make the average Joe happy. Well too bad they don't sell an intake manifold with two or three throttle bodies and some large as heck injectors..... I would make feel like I was back in my old 260Z!!! :woot:
Did the same thing in my 9-7x. Much nicer tone.
What about the vaccum line coming off of the fuel regulator? Do you just cap it off?
thanks my friend for the sweet ass food that you servree up on a regular basis

Ok, I got it! You painted the pipe black & stuck the K&N sticker on it! You had me scratching my head because you did such a good job, it looks like it's a K&N vinyl wrap! I have a 2005 and so I don't have that MAF or MAP whatever it is (brain fart) I have the airflow temperature sensor I think it's called 🤔. But I think I will hold on to the stock hose coming from the air filter box for a while until I snatch all of that Secondary air injection pump crap off & get my PCM Tuners tune! I've gotta idea about keeping my intake resonator but with a few mods that involves "Plastic Welding", but I have to find a place that does that because me & my Dremel & a hot butter knife ain't gonna get it...LMAO. You gave me so e really good ideas!nI know this is an old thread but a good idea is a good idea & thanks💯👍🏿
