I just changed the plugs. Drove it around and it seems to be chugging a bit. I pulled out each new plug and it looks like the back one (the hardest one to replace) isn't firing. All the others have brown tips (like they've been firing), but this one, which is clean. I tried reseating the plug and the coil (several times). Still no luck. The car drives, but as soon as I accelerate hard, the CEL starts blinking. unplugged and replugged the coil... nothing. Any ideas?

Bad coil wire or boot. Sometimes those boots can get stuck on the plugs and you can damage them when popping them off. And sometimes when moving the coil or unplugging the coil you can damage wire check the connections. Good luck.

yes as long as you have a scanner to see that the misfire has moved.

Yep, but how are you going to tell if the problem moved.

Remove the #6 coil and look very carefully at the wiring and at the condition of the boot.

Maybe pull new #6 plug and use one of the old ones if the coil looks ok.

What plugs are you using?
