Finally installed the efan from a C6 Corvette. Everything seems to working correctly and the coolant temperature seems to stay the same as the production ev fan. I'll continue to monitor the coolant temperature with my Tech 2 for a couple of weeks to validate the temperature control is in an acceptable range. Here are some pictures of the installed Corvette fan. The cel is on, but I'll remove that with HPtuners next week.

I used the 50 amp controller from dccontrols.

any splicing of wires needed? If so what all did you do to make the fan control work?

you have my interest..

also since you have the CEL on and your are gonna delete it.. will it come back?

No splicing, per se. I had to add one wire and terminal to the ubec for a 12 volt ignition on signal and had to add a wire to the existing a/c clutch circuit wire that is also in the ubec.
Yes, cel is on with code P0526- fan speed sensor circuit. When I see my tuner this week, I'll have him turn off the code with HPTuners.
Is that the Vette fan shroud? How close to fitting our radiator does it come? is there a lot of cutting? Can you show a pic of the fan before the install? How much for the fan? I know i have a lot of questions but I really like what I see and if it will work for towing I might try it Thanks in advance Jay:hail:

The fan and shroud assembly are from a 2007 Z51 Corvette. It is more open than the earlier C6 shrouds. It sits approx 3/4" away from the radiator core. No cutting involved, but I had to make brackets to mount the shroud to the radiator. I paid around $240 for the fan and shroud and $150 for the controller. Here is a picture of the fan mounted to a spare radiator.

Thanks!!! That one picture showes a lot. Please keep us informed how the fan peformes in high heat/load situtations. Jay
That does look good. Definately a consideration if or when my fan clutch goes bad. So many mods so little money and time.:woohoo:
If all goes as planned, I'll have my truck at Carlisle on Saturday, Aug 8 if anyone wants to see it in person.

I'm still trying to get caught up on the pros/cons of the e-fan so bear with me. BTW I do have cooling issues once the mercury goes over 95 degrees F.
Does the C6 unit flow better than the LS Camaro fan assy being sold?
Also I see where my SW dry/hilly climate is not producing good results with the e-fan conversion. Maybe this would be the solution for us SW inhabitants?
