I'm having a problem with squishy brakes. I turned both front rotors and replaced the front brake pads, then bled the brakes, and then changed the brake fluid after I noticed how dirty the fluid was while bleeding it. But the brakes are if anything more spongey than they were before. What else could this be?

ABS fault?

When you changed pads, did you push the caliper pistons in without blocking the caliper hoses? The contaminated fluid in the caliper has to bleed out the bleeder screw, not get forced backwards through the ABS valving.

Are the pads properly burnished after being installed? They're not going to stop properly until you've heated 'em up some.

Are the rotors AS MOUNTED ON THE VEHICLE within spec for runout?
