134A is what your vehicle uses. R-12 went out in the early 90's. There are some gases that cool better than 134A but I have not tried any in my TB. Did use them in my '89 Ranger and it was a lot colder than 134A. They are used when you convert a R-12 vehicle to the newer gases and want better cooling.

Your vehicle was engineered to use 134a from the components they use right down to the oil used in the system to lubricate it. If you use a different refrigerant, it will destroy the system! :nono:

I have been discussing your cooling problems with you in another thread.

If you were using an air conditioning professional, they would know what to install and you would not have this question.

You also said you already INSTALLED new refrigerant and oil.

So why are you asking this question today? Are you using an AC specialist or doing this yourself?

I find it difficult to get angry when I can simply walk away and ignore annoying threads.

You have this annoying habit of telling us 5% of the story at a time, instead of laying it ALL out at once. This is not a good habit to have when you're the one who needs help.

It sounds like you aren't doing the work personally, but you don't trust your mechanic. Yet you trust strangers on an Internet forum to give you advice you can do WHAT with? Take our instructions to the mechanic you don't trust and get HIM to act on them?

You're wasting money because perhaps you're dealing with your mechanic the same way you're dealing with us. It might be a cultural barrier, but you haven't even trusted us with your location in the world yet. You may also be wasting money because you're getting bad advice, such as to change the HVAC blower fan which must have cost $200 and anyone here on trailvoy could have told you it doesn't fit your symptoms.

If you can write a total timeline history of what you have for symptoms, and what was done so far to correct them, and the resulting observations, that might put you back on track for some assistance.

As it is, asking questions like "what kind of freon" is not a good way to work with us. If you wanted to be honest, you would have simply said "My mechanic put in R134a. Is this the GM specified refrigerant?" That's my recommendation to you when you're asking questions. Again, I don't know where you are, but in the USA, you can't easily obtain R12 anymore, and almost all automobile enthusiasts know that automatically.

We advised you look at the HVAC mode and temp actuators, and you asked us where they are (under the dash) but it's your mechanic who should know that already. Actually HE should be coming to trailvoy.com for advice. Send him here.

Any why are you avoiding going to the GM dealer if you have so many curious problems? Surely they can't be any less trustworthy than the mechanic.

what pistols can do with this

It was suppose to be a joke.

You know, I've been posting on this forum for quite some time.
Roadie (and the rest of us) are trying to help you as much as we can. That is what we do here. But in order to do that, we need as much information as possible from the start. Nobody here is mad at you - especially not Roadie.

I tell my family - it's like putting together a jig saw puzzle. They usually give me one or two pieces of the puzzle and expect me to come up with a clear and complete picture! That's basically what you are doing here.

You have given us a couple of pieces of the puzzle. I'm guessing that maybe English isn't your first language, and there is nothing wrong with that. But you need to be patient with us and help us understand. We are asking questions to try and be sure we are getting the correct and complete picture.
So if you are patient with us, we will be with you as well.

We are here to help. That's one of the best things about this forum. Members are always willing to help another. I've seen members offer to go help someone fix their vehicle.

I wish you luck. I know problems on these or any vehicle can be frustrating.

This is the type of differences you're having with the other members. I'm not asking which country you're from before I decide to help. I'm just curious as to which part of the world our members are. I'm just that weird.
Sorry I cannot help, I know squat about AC but goodluck in solving your problem.

I, as well, like to know where someone is in this vast world. Sometimes it will explain why someone cannot find a this or that. Now back to the problem at hand. What is wrong with your AC? And what is the whole story. When did it start, what have you done about it, etc?

thank u Robert
for ///Raise the morale///

first problem .. after buying the car ( used ) , I take it to the technician , and he found gas leaking and fix it , but after that i have another problem , ac is blowing hot air! and the Freon gas is ok and compressor is ok .. then i make Google search and found this website and i read one topic that some one said disconnect the battery for few minutes and try again ..
i do it and it WORK !!!
i have this problem so many times . one time no blowing in front ... at all .. then the technical replace the motor and does not work until some time maybe 2 weeks its work !
the cooling is not good , i go to the realer and he told me its better to replace fan clutch i said ok ..
now its working but hot at idle and the driver side is hot and blowing is slow
also the ext is very very hot at idle and take along time to get cooling while driving .
roadie told me to replace some part in the driver side , this part is not available now , i make request it will maybe after 1 week
and give an advise to go to the realer and update my BCM - patch or software and i go to him yesterday and they make the update .now better
but not good as i hope and as i see another cars

but the question is
- why not cooling at all at idle
- why rear ext take time to get cooling and why blowing hot air ?
- there is 2 pipes in the rear its very very hot i touch it under the car in the right rear side why this very hot like this ?
some people talking about cutting hot line in there cars /toyota and ford /
can i do it ?

this is my problems
AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH
