A few months ago I took my Trailblazer to a local shop to get an alignment. They told me that the front subframe is rusted and they had trouble locking the bolts in and that the alignment may not hold very long. The car is originally from Illinois and is 12.5 years old so it makes sense to me. About a week ago I got an oil change at the local Chevy dealer and they said that the car is out of alignment. Told them what the other shop said, they checked, and said that everything looks fine and that they can do an alignment.

Am I missing something here? Should I take the car to a third shop to see what they say? It's kind of hard to make a decision when I'm getting different answers from different places.

Dealers specialize in selling cars. They sell a lot of them. You need to go to someone who specializes in alignments. Someone who does a lot of them. That would be a tire place.
